I cannot express to you all how priveleged I feel to have been alive at the time that this speech was given. It goes above and beyond the usual political attempts to diffuse a controversial situation. It supercedes the unfavorable conditions of its promulgation and elevates the discourse on this matter to something beyond the caricature that the media has made it.
This is the greatest speech of Barack Obama’s career and the greatest speech of my lifetime. Regardless of whether or not he wins the nomination or the presidency, this speech will live on as a shining moment in American History. The moment that hell froze over and a politician stopped underestimating the intelligence of the American people.
Thank you, Mr. Obama, for giving us a substantive, honest speech. A speech that didn’t appeal just to our guts and our hearts, but to our minds. Thank you, Mr. Obama, for trying to heal this nation.
